Somehow: Kim Burrell's confirmation that it will be alright!

I told y'all last week that I was going to see Kim Burrell for the first time, right? Well, I've wanted to see her for years, and she did not disappoint.  Even my husband, who's not a huge gospel fan, felt a little something.  Howard Theatre will never be the same. We've made a pact to see her whenever she comes our way.

I don't have much time to post today, but I did want to share a few clips from the show. Enjoy!

This is her jazzy breakdown of one of my gospel favorites, The Lord Will Make a Way Somehow.  I so needed to hear this. I'm stressed. I'm up against a crazy deadline, and I'm TIRED. Guess what? He'll make a way, and Kim's songs just confirmed what I already know.

So right after she called the singers to come on stage, this guy Jared got up there and blew her away!

Kim Burrell isn't just my favorite singer because her voice is awesome.  You can tell that she means what she sings. I didn't record much because I wanted to soak up the evening, but just know we were BLESSED. She, by far, has the best live vocals I've ever experienced, and my hubby would agree.

Until next time . . . I'll be over here cranking out this dissertation. Y'all lift me up, ok?
