On Planting Seeds

Happy Friday, y'all!

I love when things come full circle. I was just talking about how I'm grateful for the people who hold me together, the universe reminded me that I get what I give to others.

I told y'all that I used to be a high school teacher, right? Well one of my best and brightest, Kim, was once a 10th grader who took my Geometry class. We became very close, and I became her mentor. We used to spend evenings and weekends hanging out at fun places like Eastern Market and Georgetown. I also befriended her mom, and I had the pleasure of having them at my wedding last year.

Kim, now a wife and mother, is starting her own floral business, Violet Garden Designs. As a way of promoting her business, she's started blogging. Lo and behold, I read her blog and was moved to tears because she dedicated her very first blog entry to me and the "seed" that was planted during my wedding to pursue her floral design dreams. I love the metaphor of planting seeds. I'm a firm believer of reaping and sowing, and there's nothing like seeing your "work" come to fruition.

Go on over to her blog and check her out!  Support her business!

Until next time . . . go plant some seeds! Have a great weekend!
